The Vinha das Romãs is the result of story that began in 2002, when, where once stood an orchard of pomegranates, a vineyard was planted. Over the years, the vineyard established itself and the resulting wines denoted a very particular structure. It was only when the soil was studied in detail that it was discovered the reason behind such personality and texture. The roots of the new Vinha das Romãs were intertwined with the roots of the pomegranates that were left buried, enriching the soil.

Grapes: Syrah & Touriga Franca
Aging: 20 months in new French Oak barrels
Tasting Notes: Dense incarnate colour, dark and opaque. Closed nose, at first. Followed by a complexity of black fruits, cedar, forest fruits, squaw mint, spice mix, cardamom, and earthy. Tasteful, solid, growing tannins yet solid and elegant at the end. Very fresh, granite mineral finish.
ABV: 14.5%
Decant: 1-2 hrs
Serving Temp: 14-18 °C
Pairing: Grilled or stewed red meats, Rich Italian dishes. Cheese board
